1976 guitarist Paul Kossoff, ex of Free and Back Street Crawler, died of heart failure on a flight from Los Angeles to New York, after a long history of drug abuse.
1982 Randy Rhoads, the 25-year-old guitarist with Ozzy Osbourne, is killed in a Light plane crash in Florida
1993 Drummer Jeff Ward was found dead in his home in Chicago. It was believed he had committed suicide.
