1993 Saxophonist Steve Douglas dies of heart failure in Los Angeles during a recording session with Ry Cooder. He was 55. As a session musician, he played on such hits as Da Doo Ron Ron and Be My Baby.
2002 Layne Staley (Alice in Chains) was found dead in his apartment.
